Job description
  • The Unit Manager - Finance & Accounts is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the financial and accounting operations of a business unit or department within a company
  • This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the unit while providing strategic financial guidance to support business decisions
  • The Unit Manager will lead a team of finance and accounting professionals, ensuring their development and performance
Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:Develop and manage the financial planning and budgeting process for the business unit
  • Analyze financial data, prepare reports, and present findings to the senior management team
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors for periodic audits
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with tax authorities as required
  • Cost Management:Monitor and control costs within the business unit, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new projects and initiatives
  • Cash Flow Management:Manage the cash flow of the business unit, forecasting future cash needs and optimizing cash utilization
  • Ensure appropriate treasury management practices to minimize financial risks
  • Financial Strategy and Decision Support:Provide financial insights and support to aid strategic decision-making by the senior management team
  • Participate in financial discussions related to new business ventures, mergers, and acquisitions
  • Team Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs
  • System and Process Improvement:Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline financial operations
  • Requirements:Bachelor\\\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A Master\\\'s degree or professional certifications (eg, CPA, CMA) would be advantageous
  • Proven experience (typically 5-8 years or more) in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques
