Job Description

Position: Legal Counsel
Qualification: LLB, LLM
Experience: 7 to 8 years
Location: Bengaluru

Responsibilities
  • Expert knowledge in Contract Management, Legal Compliances and other related rules and regulations.
  • Legal Compliances
  • Providing effective Compliance supports to the various businesses and manage the relevant Compliance risk 
  • Review of the Legal Compliance under the Factories Act, 1948, Shops & Commercial Establishment Act, Contract Labour Laws, etc.
  • Assure effective documentation and management of all compliance matters, including accurate maintenance of relevant registers and filings.
  • Prepare and timely submit to relevant statutory bodies all relevant materials and notices, etc.
  • Update the latest amendments and notifications, etc. and implement the same.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies as may be required.
  • Review/vetting, draft and negotiate various commercial agreements/contracts and understand the complexity of various Businesses to mitigate Company risk.
  • Other Legal Support (internal legal support)
  • Provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy and other related issues to include; proposed new management action.
  • Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues.
  • Documentation and safe custody of all original documents pertaining to Company.
  • Timely advice on legal issues raised by various divisions 
  • To give proactive, prompt and proper legal & regulatory advice to the management/user departments and to keep them informed of the latest legal/regulatory developments thereto impacting business and brand.
  • Support to HR on various legal related matters including drafting of notices, supporting for enquiry proceedings, appear before the labour authorities, etc.
  • Experience in general commercial matters, and experience in drafting, vetting and negotiating various agreements
  • Support on corporate secretarial matters.
Litigation Management
  • Responsible for cases under Civil & Criminal nature and also under Labour Laws which includes:
    • Attending Civil & Criminal courts regularly and giving evidence during hearing of the case.
    • Issuing legal notices against recovery and to arrange to file case after consultation with the management.
    • Assisting Company Advocate in preparing case and filling.
    • Appearing before the court in all dates fixed for hearing and whenever required.
    • Co-ordinate with the Manager and legal counsel and follow-up for speedy disposal of cases.
