Role & responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the organization. This role involves providing strategic legal guidance to senior management and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations relevant to the company\'s operations. This position will collaborate with various departments (internal and external) and stakeholders (internal and external) to mitigate legal risks and support business objectives.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support the organizations objectives and mitigate risks.
- Provide legal guidance to senior management on a wide range of issues, including contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and litigation matters.
- Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the organizations interest and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise the organisation on potential impacts and compliance requirements.
- Represent organisation in legal proceedings, negotiations and any other legal matters as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal issues and support business initiatives.
- legal work in relation to Bidding, M&A, Arbitration, Litigation, NHAI correspondence.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across organisation.
- Manager relationship with external legal counsel and other third-party service providers as required.
- Monitor and manage legal expenses and budgets effectively
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in law (LL. B). Master’s in law (LL.M) would be an additional advantage
- Post qualification experience between 10 – 15 years.
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a legal department preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of legal due diligence processes.
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relevant to the organizations industry and operations. (Road Infrastructure)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with stakeholders (internal & external) at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
