Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse financial data and create financial models for decision support.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to budget and forecasts.
- Identify trends and provide insights to management for strategic planning.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and performance metrics.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance explanations.
- Work with department heads to develop and refine financial forecasts.
- Perform scenario analysis to predict future financial outcomes.
- Data Management and Financial Systems:
- Maintain and update financial databases and systems.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all financial reports and analysis.
- Implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Support the development of long-term financial plans.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies for new projects and initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for business growth.
- Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Present financial findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with financial analysis in [specific industry, if applicable].
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
- Understanding of SQL and data extraction techniques.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
