Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and execute the companys financial strategy to support business growth and sustainability.
  • Formulate financial goals and performance metrics aligned with the company\'s overall objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (Indian GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including the guidelines set by the National Housing Bank (NHB) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
  • Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth audits and inspections.
  • Capital Management & Fundraising:
  • Manage the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for raising funds through various sources like debt markets, equity, and other financial instruments.
  • Develop relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders for fundraising and financial support.
  • Risk Management & Control:
  • Establish and implement robust risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversee asset-liability management, liquidity management, and capital adequacy.
  • Loan Book Management & Financial Products:
  • Oversee the management of the loan book, ensuring effective credit risk assessment, underwriting, and pricing of mortgage products.
  • Develop and refine the company’s housing finance products, including home loans, loan against property, and other retail mortgage products.
  • Ensure effective loan recovery processes, collection frameworks, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in the housing finance sector.
  • Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
  • Oversee the company’s treasury function, ensuring adequate liquidity to support business operations and growth.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Implement strategies for optimizing cash management, including short-term and long-term investments.
  • Financial Analysis & Decision Support:
  • Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into the company’s performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Support senior management and the board with decision-making by providing relevant financial data, trends, and insights.
  • Analyze financial data and market conditions to advise on strategic investments, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Communicate the company’s financial performance and strategy effectively to stakeholders, including shareholders, analysts, and the media.
  • Lead the preparation of presentations for board meetings, investors, and other external parties.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring professional development and a high level of performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the finance department.
  • Ensure the team is adequately equipped with the knowledge and tools to support business operations efficiently.
  • Strategic Business Partnership:
  • Partner with other departments, including marketing, operations, and legal, to ensure the financial success of business strategies and product offerings.
  • Provide financial guidance and recommendations to drive operational efficiency and growth.
  • Lead the financial integration of new business initiatives, mergers, or acquisitions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA in Finance, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a Housing Finance Company (HFC), NBFC, or banking sector.
  • In-depth Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations governing housing finance companies, including NHB guidelines, RBI regulations, and other legal and compliance frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fundraising Expertise: Experience in capital raising, debt instruments, equity markets, and working with financial institutions and investors.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to overall business growth through sound financial decisions.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with financial software systems, ERP systems, and advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
